Betty McDade, 92 years old, one of the oldest and longest-residing citizens of San Manuel, still takes pride in her yard.
“I’d rather be outside in the yard than inside cleaning house,” Betty has always said.
Well of late, she needs a little help with her yardwork, but she has six kids, 15 grandkids plus numerous great-grandkids to help her.
On Saturday, March 8, she had what she calls a WORK DAY and had 15 of her family members show up to do just that! They trimmed back winter grunge, moved this and planted that until her yard was back to her standards.
Betty remembers when San Manuel was a pretty little town. She moved here in 1954 when she was 22 years old and has lived here ever since.
