
William ‘Bill’ Lopez Padilla Jr.
William “Bill” Lopez Padilla Jr., 85 of Avondale, Arizona, passed away Oct. 10, 2025. He was born in Superior, Arizona on April 30, 1940, to William and Frances Padilla and a proud 1958 SHS graduate. Bill loved playing the guitar, camping, coming to the Safaris, and spending time with family and friends. He loved his hometown of Superior. He was an outgoing person and ready to lend a helping hand when needed.
He graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Arts and then completed a Master at Northern Arizona University. He taught for several years then went on to the Arizona Department of Education where he worked for the Migrant Program. After retiring from the Arizona Department of Education, he went on to work for 25 years for Estrella Charter School. He loved working with his students and helping them achieve their educational goals.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Irma; sons, Christopher and Raymond; daughter, Debra; six grandchildren; sister, Sylvia Perez; nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and aunt, Corrie Padilla Alvarado.
He was preceded in death by his parents and several family members.
Services were held Nov. 7 in Goodyear, Arizona.
He will be loved and missed forever but is now resting in peace.
