William ‘Bill’ Lloyd Smith

  William (Bill) Lloyd Smith, 70 of San Manuel Arizona passed away Wednesday July 31, 2019 at the Southern Arizona VA Hospital in Tucson Arizona.

  Bill is survived by his wife of 47 years, Kay Smith; daughters, Aimee (Bill) Smith-Garcia and Rebekah Smith; grandchildren, Bailee, Pacey, Stephen and Seth; and beloved pet dog, Dusty. He is preceded in death by both his parents, Woodrow Smith and Lu La Bell Hughes; brother, Ray Smith; sister, Marty Speich; and granddaughter, Joree Smith-Garcia.

  Bill was born in Biloxi, Mississippi, moving to Bisbee, Arizona, before he enlisted in the Army during the Vietnam War. After his military service he moved to San Manuel to begin employment at Magma Copper Company. He worked for Magma/BHP Copper for 28 years before retiring in 1999. 

  Bill enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was an avid outdoorsman in his earlier years. He enjoyed spending his retired years meeting with friends drinking coffee and just hanging out. 

  Per his request there will be no services held at this time.

  The staff at the Southern Arizona Veterans Home and Southern Arizona VA Hospital provided loving care and support during Bill’s final days. The family would also like to extend their sincerest gratitude towards the Adair Funeral home and staff during this difficult time.
