As the season starts to wind down, the ladies on the Copper Corridor volleyball teams continue to work hard on the courts.

Hayden Lady Lobos

  The Lady Lobos volleyball team started last week with a home game against Valley Lutheran. It was a tough match against the Flames, and the Lady Lobos suffered a 0-3 loss, with set scores of 20-25, 13-25, and 16-25. The Lady Lobos closed out last week with an away game versus Patagonia Union. It was another tough loss for the girls, with a 0-3 final, and set scores; 12-25, 9-25, and 16-25.

  The Lady Lobos will start out this week with an away game at Ray. On Wednesday, Oct. 15, they will host ASDB, with a start time of 5 p.m.

Ray Lady ‘Cats

  On Saturday, Oct. 4, the Lady ‘Cats traveled to take on San Simon. The girls suffered a tough 0-3 loss with set scores; 15-25, 11-25, and 17-25.

  The Lady ‘Cats started last week with an away match at San Manuel. The girls played tough, but suffered a 1-3 loss, with set scores of 25-17, 22-25, 21-25, and 23-25. The girls hosted Desert Heights Prep and played another good match, with a 2-3 final and set scores 25-21, 20-25, 10-25, 25-18, and 10-15.

  The girls hosted San Carlos to close out their week [set scores not available at press time; will be in next issue].

  The girls will host Hayden to start their week, then they will travel to Superior on Oct. 16. They will close out their week competing in the Second Annual Longhorn Invitational in San Simon on Oct. 18.

San Manuel Lady Miners

  The Lady Miners started out last week with a home match against Ray. The girls claimed a 3-1 win, with set scores of 17-25, 25-22, 25-21, and 25-23. The girls closed out last week with an away match at Duncan. The Lady Miners suffered a tough 0-3 loss, with set scores 23-25, 13-25, and 22-25.

  This week they will host Fort Thomas to start, and close it out traveling to Cicero Prep.

Superior Lady Panthers

  The Lady Panthers kept busy on the volleyball court last week. They started by hosting Apache Junction. The girls claimed a 3-1 match win, with set scores of 25-22, 27-29, 25-16, and 25-19. The following day they hosted Fort Thomas, suffering a tough 0-3 match loss, with set scores of 19-25, 17-25, and 16-25.

  Closing out their week the Lady Panthers traveled to take on Valley Lutheran. It was a good match, that ended in the girls’ favor, with set scores 13-25, 25-15, 25-14, and 27-25.

  The girls will start out this week hosting Cicero Prep on Tuesday, followed by a Thursday home match against Ray.
