Vincent Abraham “Chenté” Chavez, 41, passed away on Dec. 16, 2017. He was born Sept. 25, 1976 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
He lived in the Tri-Community for more than 40 years, residing in Oracle at the time of his death.
He was a self-taught artist and was soon to start school at the University of the Visual Arts in Tucson.
Vincent was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary L. Chavez.
He leaves behind in loving memory his mother, Rita Irene Peña; father, Leandro Chavez Sr.; children, Miracle, Romeo, Dominiq, Charisma, Estrella and Angelica; goddaughter and niece, Luciana Chavez; stepchildren. MariaElena, Antonio and Alfred; brothers, Leandro (Crista), Mariano (Sandy) and Benito (Angelica); grandmother, Armida Molina; nieces and nephews, Daniel, Annalexia, Lexi, Alicia, Guillermo, David, Ezequiel, Luciana, Mariano Jr., Ariza, Aurelia, Vincent, Anthony and Benny; great-nephews, Xander, David and Zeke; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services were held Dec. 21, 2017 at Living Word Chapel in Oracle with Pastor James Ruiz officiating. Vincent’s goddaughter, Luciana, sang Amazing Grace at his service accompanied by her grandfather on the guitar.
Oasis Cremation and Funeral Care of Tucson assisted the family with arrangements.
