It has been many years since Superior hosted a Veterans Day Parade, but thanks to the passion, initiative, and dedication of local volunteers from around the Copper Corridor, this year will be the first in re-establishing this time-honored tradition for our military veterans and their families.
On Nov. 9 at noon, all community members from around Arizona are invited to attend this FREE family-friendly event where our communities will be able to come together in a day of celebration to show gratitude for the service of all our veterans. The American Legion has planned a full day of activities including live music, dance performances, a kids fun zone and art activities for the youth, food vendors, and a beer garden.
The most unique part of the event is the “Honor Cruise” part of the parade where our hometown heroes will get their moment in the limelight to be honored by our communities and feel our thanks and appreciation when passing the grandstand area. Individuals with vehicles that they are proud of are invited to participate in sponsoring a veteran to ride along during the parade. It could be a new car, a classic car, an offroad vehicle, or even a jalopy … all are welcome! To pre-register for the parade email gmmontiel83@gmail.com for an entry form.
If you are a veteran or have a family member who is a veteran and would like to participate in the ride-along portion of the parade, please reach out to the American Legion at 480-272-3786 for details or any questions.
