St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, located at 609 W. Park Place in San Manuel, is holding a Harvest Festival on Saturday, Nov. 9.

A Harvest Festival is a special autumn service for parishioners (and invited guests) to express gratitude to God for the bounty of the harvest, giving thanks for the fruits of the land. It is also a reminder to be mindful of those less fortunate and to encourage acts of charity.

At this Harvest Festival, Holy Mass will be at 11 a.m. to begin the event, which will run until 7 p.m.  There will be food booths selling red and green chili burros, fry bread, hotdogs and hamburgers, sweet treats, beer and soda. Fun contests planned are best homemade pie; best gingerbread house; bobbing for apples; pumpkin carving and a cakewalk.

Sign up for the Cornhole Tournament at 11:30 a.m. This will be a double elimination event, costing $10 per person to enter and offering trophies for teams placing first through third. The Horseshoe Tournament, with sign up at 1:30 p.m., is also double elimination, $10 per person, but is blind draw. Trophies will be offered for teams placing first through fourth.

Aside from games, good food, fun and fellowship, there will be the entertainment provided by Mariachis from noon through 3 p.m., followed by D.J. Louis Madrid from 3 p.m. through 7 p.m.
