For the sixth year, Fueling the Future has provided perishable and non-perishable food to at-risk students at Mountain Vista School during winter break.

A team of grass roots volunteers from SaddleBrooke, SaddleBrooke Ranch, Eagle Crest and Oracle gathered donations at their homes from a VERY generous public. There were 50 students receiving the donations this year. These students, who depend upon breakfast and lunch when school is in session, did not have food insecurity during the 15 days of winter break.

Volunteers gathered to sort food and filled two large bags with non-perishable food per family. Fresh fruits, vegetables, bread, cheese, milk and butter were picked up from Costco and distributed on Dec. 15 along with the food bags.

Fueling the Future continues to be a grass roots effort. Thanks not just to the public for their generosity, but also the efforts of students, parents, teachers, custodians and community volunteers – this could not be done without all of you.

Best wishes for the New Year and a SHOUT OUT to the Mountain Vista Cougars!
