While the kids were celebrating an early holiday and a short week, some of the students at San Manuel and Superior high schools were hard at work – on the basketball courts.

Last week the San Manuel girls’ basketball team kept it light on the court for the holiday week. The Lady Miners hosted the Duncan Wildkats. The girls had a difficult time holding down Duncan’s tough offense. The Wildkats were in control of the game, while the Lady Miners struggled to catch up. The game ended in a loss for the Lady Miners, with a final score of 7-42.

The boys’ basketball team also hosted the Duncan Wildkats. The Miners put up a fight on the court, but in the end, were unable to keep the Wildkats from scoring. The final score of the game was a 12-point difference, 29-41.

The Superior boys’ basketball team traveled and took to the court last week to compete against Cicero Prep Academy. The boys played a tough game, but were unable to keep up in the end, losing by 24 points. The final score of the game was 40-64.

Superior will be on the road this week to Ray High School and Valley Lutheran.
