San Manuel Fire Department responded to a housefire in the 100 block of W. Fifth Ave., San Manuel, early Wednesday morning.
The department was dispatched on Nov. 6 at approximately 1 a.m. Upon arrival, firefighters found the home to be fully engulfed in fire. The home’s owner was observed being attended by AMR ambulance personnel.
According to Ernest Ivy, Assistant Chief, “The fire was determined to be a defensive exterior attack. Two quick attack fire hose lines was deployed to the front and rear of the house. The initial fire was knocked down. Overhaul operations were started to extinguish deep seated smoldering fires.”
Ivy reported that the fire was extinguished at 5:36 a.m. and that the fire appeared to have started in a rear enclosed porch area.
Oracle Fire Department assisted with extinguishing the fire.
