On Monday, August. 4, the Oracle Community Center held its first Monday of the month lunch. They served up a delicious lunch of taco salad with a beverage and dessert for an affordable $7.

The Rotary Club of SaddleBrooke also donated a new bench for the outside of the community center. Not just a regular bench, but a bench that was made out of recycled grocery bags and plastics collected from the community at a drop off box at the Oracle Community Center. The collection box is still there accepting plastic grocery bags.

The bench took 1,000 pounds of plastic to make. For perspective, 100,000 grocery bags equals 1,000 pounds.

Donating the bench on behalf of the Rotary Club of SaddleBrooke was Pete Watson and Bill Demeroutis. Accepting the bench on behalf of the Oracle Community Center was Steve Chavez and Laura Stiltner.

Be sure to keep an eye out for the September first Monday of the month lunch.
