Roy Nute

Roy Nute, 82, passed away peacefully on Sept. 10, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.

Roy was a man who loved deeply and lived simply. He found peace in fishing and being outdoors, but his greatest joy came from the time he spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Family was always at the heart of who he was, and he carried a quiet strength that those around him admired.

He is survived by his sister, Roy (Brenda) Baker of Pekin, IL; his children, Troy Stapp of Quincy, IL, Roy William Nute of Cabool, MO, and Leann McCollum of Kearny, AZ; as well as his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were his pride and joy.

Roy was preceded in death by his mother, Rose Alice Taylor; his sister, Howard (Violet) Collins; his sister, Mary Alice Nute; and his brother, Lee Roy Nute.

He will be remembered not only for his love of family but also for the simple, lasting memories he created — quiet talks, fishing trips, shared laughter, and the steady presence he gave to those who knew him best. Roy’s legacy will live on in the stories, love, and traditions carried forward by his family.

Though he will be deeply missed, his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
