Rosa Huerta Mendibles was born in Trincheras, Sonora, Mexico in 1933. Rosa passed away in Tucson, AZ on April 10, 2020.
After coming to the United States, she met and married Alex Mendibles in the early 1950s in Tiger, AZ. They lived in Mammoth and had a daughter and four sons from 1953 to 1964. She was a school crossing guard and cafeteria worker for Mammoth Elementary School from 1973 to 1993. She enjoyed playing bingo, going to church and casinos, and cooking. She was a member of the Lions Club and the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband and daughter. She is survived by her sons, Alex (Selina), Arthur, Adolfo and Albert (Lori); grandchildren, Alex (Patty), Andy (Shannon), Nick (Errin), Arthur and Angelita; and great-grandchildren, Andrew, Alyssa, Nicholas and Isabella.
Services will be held later at Blessed Sacrament Church and she will be laid to rest next to Alex at Valley View Cemetery in Mammoth.
