The Arizona Mining Association hosted its third annual Mining Expo at the Superior Multi-Gen Center. The event was created to allow mining companies from across the state of Arizona to meet individually with a variety of contractors, suppliers and consultants. The event functioned similarly to a speed dating event, allowing for both in-depth skill and needs sharing along with networking across the industry.
Over 200 people were in attendance at the event which began in the gymnasium with brief remarks and speeches from Steve Trussel Executive Director of the Arizona Mining Association, State Mine Inspector Paul Marsh, Mayor Mila Besich of Superior and Ryan Sisted of the Minnesota based mining advocacy organization, Better in Our Backyard.
Local mines participating included Capstone Mining Pinto Valley, Faraday Copper, Florence Copper, KGHM-Carlota and Resolution Copper.
