Rebecca G Borunda, 81, passed away peacefully in her sleep in San Manuel on June 10, 2019.
She is survived by her husband, Jose Borunda; children, Elizabeth Zazueta, Donald (Edna) Boger, Ronald Borunda, and Josifine (Michael) Shanks; siblings, Virgina (Bil) Hitchens and Benny (Linda) Gonzales; grandchildren, Joseph (Monique) Boger, Michael (Vanessa) Zazueta, Maria Zazueta, Lissa (Pedro) Diaz, Felicia Zazueta, Michelle (JT) Zarate-Cox, Erica Gonzalez, Donny Price, Jase Borunda, Michael (Blake) Shanks Jr. and Ashley Shanks; 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Rebecca graduated in 1957 from Cobre High School in Bayard, New Mexico. She retired from Mammoth-San Manuel School District. She loved spending time with family and friends, singing hymns, making tortillas, creating crafts, crocheting and traveling back home to New Mexico.
Services will be held at the Assembly of God, 201 E. Main St in San Manuel on Friday, June 21, at 10 a.m. Interment will take place at the Valley View Cemetery in Mammoth.. A luncheon will follow graveside services at the San Manuel Assembly of God.
Vistoso Funeral Home (Vistosfuneralhome.com), 2285 E. Rancho VIstosos Blvd in Oro Valley, assisted the family in making arrangements.
