Two Copper Corridor schools hosted their Homecoming games, but with very different outcomes.
Ray Bearcats
The Ray Bearcats football team hosted Cicero Prep Academy last week for their Homecoming game. It was a battle for the Bearcats, but they were able to come out on top. The Centurions were able to score 28 points, but the boys scored 58 points. The final score was 58-28. Making it a good homecoming for the Bearcats.
This week the Bearcats will travel to Fort Thomas to take on the Apaches. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. kickoff.

San Manuel Miners & Hayden Lobos
The San Manuel High School football team hosted the Hayden Lobos for their Homecoming game. The Miners kicked off to the Lobos to start the game.
The Miners tried their best to suppress the Lobos’ offense, but were unable to. The Miners were able to get onto the board with a touchdown and 2-point conversion. At the end of the first quarter the score sat at San Manuel 8 and Hayden 36.
The Miners continued to battle a tough Lobo defense and a quick offense. By the end of the third quarter the score sat at San Manuel 8 and Hayden 61. At the start of the fourth quarter the game was paused for a lightning watch, and eventually resumed. The score of the game stayed the same during the fourth quarter. The game ended with a Lobo victory, and a tough homecoming loss for the Miners. The final score sat at 8-61.
San Manuel will travel to Cicero Prep this week for a Thursday game on Sept. 25. Hayden will host Williams on Friday, September 26, with a kickoff time of 7pm.
Superior Panthers
The Panthers football team hosted Fort Thomas for a Thursday game last week. The first quarter of the game both the Panthers and the Apaches scored 1 touchdown. Going into the second quarter 6-6, the Panthers were able to pull ahead scoring 20 points, by halftime the score sat at 26-6.
After halftime, the Panthers kept the pressure against the Apaches and scored 8 more points during the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, no points were scored from either team. The final score of the game was 34-6, making it a Panther victory. The boys now have a four-win streak.
They will travel to take on St. David this Friday, Sept. 26.
