The No. 10-ranked Ray boys’ basketball team won its first game since Dec. 13, defeating North Phoenix Prep last Friday, 44 – 32.
The Bearcats took a three-game winning streak into last month’s holiday break and reached as high as No. 5 in the state rankings. However, in their first two games following the break, the Cats were defeated by NFL Yet and Miami, respectively. Both losses were by lopsided margins.
Against the Gladiators, the Cats returned to form.
With the win, Ray improved to 6 – 3 on the season, including a 5 – 2 mark in 1A East Region games.
Up next: Jan. 17 vs. Phoenix Day School for the Deaf, Jan. 18 at Immaculate Heart, and Jan. 19 vs. Ft. Thomas. All games are scheduled for 7 p.m.
