It was another stellar night of high school football on Friday. San Manuel traveled to Kearny to face the Bearcats and Hayden hosted Mogollon.

The Ray football team hosted San Manuel last Friday. After last week’s loss, the Bearcats were able to claim the victory over the Miners.

The final score of the game was 32-12, giving the Bearcats their first win of the season. It was a tough game for the Miners, who were only able to get 12 points on the scoreboard.

Ray will travel to take on St. David on Friday, Sept. 6, with a kickoff time scheduled for 7 p.m.

The Miners will travel to take on Duncan on Friday, Sept. 6, with a kickoff time of 7 p.m.

In JV action, San Manuel hosted Ray on Aug. 28. Ray claimed the win with a score of 16-12.

Hayden Lobos

The Hayden High School football team hosted the Mogollon Mustangs last Friday.

The last time the boys saw the Mustangs was during their state championship game last season, where the Lobos earned the 1A Championship title.

The Lobos came out ready to play, ending the first quarter with 16 points to their name, while giving up 6. The second quarter was a battle, but the Lobos held tough, not letting any of the Mustangs make it to the end zone. By halftime the score remained 16-6.

The second half of the game saw the Lobos step on the gas, while playing some tough ball. The game concluded with a Lobo victory, and a final score of 50-20.

Their next game will be on Sept. 6 at home against Bagdad with a kickoff time of 7 p.m.

Superior Panthers

The Superior football team was scheduled to play against Meyer on Friday, Aug. 30, but due to a cancellation on Meyer’s end, the Panthers did not get to hit the field. They took the win by forfeit.

The Panthers will travel to take on Williams on Friday, Sept. 6.

In JV action, the Panthers hosted Dishchii’bikoh on Aug. 29. The boys were able to claim the win with a final score of 28-0.
