Ramon ‘Sito’ Cruz

  Ramon “Sito” Cruz, of Dudleyville Arizona, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2020 surrounded by his family.

  He was born on June 7, 1938 to Gomecindo and Jesus Cruz in Hayden, Arizona. He was a graduate of Hayden High School where he played baseball, basketball and football. He worked for Kennecott and Asarco his entire career until retirement, and invented a patent that was used in his workplace saving a lot of work and time for the employees of the company. He was an avid golfer, and played many years with friends and family. Ramon loved his family and grandchildren deeply and was a very devout Catholic having started his faith as a very young altar boy.

  He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Carmen Torres, Edward Cruz, Tommy Cruz and Manuel Cruz.

  Ramon is survived by his wife of 63 years, Adeline Lagunas Cruz; daughter, Annamaria Davis (Michael); grandchildren, Michaela, Mytchal, and Marcel; son, Ray Anthony Cruz (Bettina); and grandchildren, Lucian, Jordan and Laura. Ramon is also survived by his brothers, Anacleto Cruz (Maria) and George Cruz (Tina); and sisters, Josephine Torres (Tino), Cecilia Ordaz (Jesse) and Rosie Ortega. He is also survived by many comadres and compadres, nieces and nephews and many godchildren and good friends.

  A Mass and celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
