The emergency landing area for the helicopter transport in Oracle has been repainted. The Oracle Briggs Heli-Spot located by the county courthouse and the county maintenance area was in need of a repainting job as the red cross landing pad was worn and faded. The Heli-Spot was constructed in 2006.
Dale Suter, on behalf of the Oracle Fire Department approached District 1 Supervisor, Pete Rios, with the hope that the county would be willing to repaint the pad.
“The pad,” Suter explained, “is used for medical transport for Oracle and the tri-city area and there might be a safety issue with the flaking paint and helicopter activities.”
Suter, Chairman of the Oracle Fire Board showed Mr. Rios photographs of the need to repaint the worn faded paint job on the pad. Supervisor Rios agreed that there was a safety need to repaint the Heli-pad.
Supervisor Rios then contacted Pinal County officials, who made sure that the repainting job was completed. The Oracle Fire Department would like to thank Pinal County for the great job that they did.
