What a wonderful showing of support from friends and family for the fundraiser for Florence Aldrete. Richard and Rosie Tameron part owners of Los Hermanos donated the dance hall and prepared food for the event. Many people donated items to be raffled off and some items were auctioned off. It was a very successful event with around 300 people in attendance.

Many people know Florence Aldrete who worked for the US Postal Service for many years and also worked for Los Hermanos. Due to her recent diagnosis of cancer she is unable to work now. During Aldrete’s thank you speech she said, “This is very difficult for me and I want to thank everyone in the community for the support so many people have helped me and I really appreciate everything, the prayers, donations and the people in my life.”

Aldrete has been a single mother raising her family in Superior and even opened her home to family or people she cared for that were in need. At the fundraiser many people spoke of how special Aldrete is and how she always greets people with a smile, a willingness to help others and is truly a beautiful person.

During the fundraiser many items were raffled and auctioned off including two bicycles, baskets with many items, a very large amethyst, baseball tickets, a 32” flat screen television, alcohol, homemade crafts by different community members and even an afghan quilt made by Aldrete. Roy Chavez was the auctioneer and raffle award announcer. It was so nice to see Mayor Valenzuela and Councilmember John Tameron among the attendee’s at this special event. Everyone seemed to have a wonderful time and there certainly was a lot of money made to help Aldrete’s incurring medical bills.

Continued prayers and financial support is needed for Aldrete. If you would like to donate please feel free to contact Richard Tameron at 520-689-5465. Thank you all for your thoughtful donations and continued prayers for Florence Aldrete! Everyone wishes her the best with her cancer battle!
