Superior Schools recognize Employees of the Month

  The Superior Unified School District recognized the employees for the month for February and March.  Daryl Workman and Michael Diaz Gonzalez were recognized for the month of February and longtime teacher Virginia Contreras was the employee of the month for March.  The employees are nominated by their colleagues at the district.

  Daryl Workman is a teacher at the Superior Junior/Senior High school.  His nomination reads, “Mr. Workman is a hard working individual who cares about students and their education. He is always willing to help out and has stepped up during his first year of employment with the District.”

Michael Diaz Gonzalez is the Transportation Director for the district and the February Employee of the Month.

  Michael Diaz Gonzalez is the Transportation Director for the district.  Michael works diligently to maintain the District fleet and ensure that all vehicles are ready for use. He is always willing to volunteer his time to help the students of the district.  Recently he has taken on extra duties sponsoring the Robotics Team and the Junior Class.  HIs positive attitude and demeanor is felt by staff, students, and parents.

Virginia Contreras was the employee of the month for March.

  Virginia Contreras has been a teacher for the district for over 40 years.  This year she has taken on an additional challenge by stepping up to teach the third grade.  This was a significant undertaking and she has taken it on with grace and professionalism.  Mrs. Contreras is conscientious and caring; her students always know that they are her priority.

Mila Besich (471 Posts)

Mila Besich is a resident of Superior with two children. She volunteers for many local organizations. She is an experienced fundraiser and event planner for Copper Corridor Economic Development Coalition. She covers some of the area town councils and schools.
