Superior Police Report – Oct. 18, 2017

  According to state law, police may arrest suspected offenders by two methods. The suspect may be physically taken into the department and booked into jail, or the arresting officer may write a citation and release the suspect to appear in court later. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Only criminal citations are listed. All damage amounts are estimates.

  Items are given to The Superior Sun by the Superior Police Department and reflect information available at the time the report is compiled.

  Activity listed from Sept. 28 to Oct. 11.

Sept. 28

  Brandon J. Olsen, 23, of Ogden, UT, was arrested at milepost 227 on Hwy. 60 and was charged with driving on a suspended license and driving without an ignition interlock device. He was cited and released.

  Justin R. Monarez, 25, Superior, was arrested in the 300 block of Bridge St. and was charged with theft. He was cited and released.

Sept. 29

  Theft was reported in the 400 block of Main St.

Sept. 30

  Theft was reported in the 1100 block of Hwy. 60.

  Vehicle theft was reported in the 300 block of Gibbs St.

Oct. 1

  Miguel P. Melendez, 40, Phoenix, was arrested in the 1100 block of Hwy. 60 and was charged with driving on a suspended license. He was cited and released.

  Zackrie L. Edmiston, 24, Miami, was arrested in the 1100 block of Hwy. 60 and was charged with driving on a suspended license. He was cited and released.

Oct. 3

  Jose M. Salazar, 36, Hollywood, CA, was arrested in the area of Church Ave. and Hwy. 60 and was charged with operating a vehicle in violation of restriction. He was cited and released.

  Karen Y. G. Parrish, 30, Tempe, was arrested in the area of Western Ave. and Hwy. 60 and was charged with driving on a suspended license. She was cited and released.

Oct. 5

  Devin W. White, 24, Mesa, was arrested in the 400 block of Highlands Dr. and was charged with driving on a suspended license. He was cited and released.

Oct. 8

  Paul D. Mendez, 26, Superior, was arrested in the 200 block of Smith Dr. and was charged with disorderly conduct. He was cited and released.

  Criminal damage was reported in the 200 block of Wight St.

  Mardella R. Smith, 43, San Carlos, was arrested in the 1100 block of Hwy. 60 and was charged with driving on a suspended license. She was cited and released.

  Calls not listed include traffic stop (29), disturbance (9), agency assist (8), information (5), animal complaint (1), welfare check (7), suspicious activity (3), traffic hazard (2), fire (4), trespass (3), field interview (5), utility problem (2), attempt to locate (1) and civil matter (3).

 The Superior Police and Fire Departments have contracted all dispatch services to the Pinal County Sheriff (POLICE) and Florence PD (FIRE). As a result of these changes, you need to know some new phone numbers.
