Thousands of visitors descended upon Superior this past weekend for the 8th Annual Home Tour. Every street was packed and many of the homes had lines of visitors waiting to go inside, local restaurants had waiting lists and local shops were filled with happy shoppers.
Superior Chamber of Commerce President Sue Anderson explained that on Saturday alone the tour had sold 1,400 tickets. Usually the two day event sells about 800 tickets. The total ticket sales for two days was 2,000 tickets. The event also included several free attractions including an antique show, entertainment and art show which also had many visitors who did not complete the tour.
It takes well over 60 volunteers to pull this event off each year. This year those volunteers greeted double the number of guests.
“The success of this event is a culmination of the hard work all of us have done for the past 10+ years to make Superior a vibrant community and an Arizona destination. We are ‘on the map’ now and the rest is up to us,” explained Sue Anderson.
Many of the guests on the tour were heard saying: This is the best home tour we’ve ever been to; This little town is so delightful; We are so glad that we came here…we’ll be back; and We love all the shops here.
