Thanks to a federally funded grant, students at the Superior Head Start have been getting some extra schooling this summer.
The students have been busy using sand and water play outdoor activities, weather permitting, of course. The children created salt dough handprints, celebrated Flag Day with a presentation giving by the Superior VFW and, most recently, participated in a Summer Fun Day.
On Monday, the students participated in a walking field trip to the Superior Public Library to see Arizona Rick the Balloon Cowboy at the library’s summer reading program.
The final day for the students will be Wednesday, July 12. The children will receive a certificate during a celebration ceremony at 10:30 a.m.
The Superior Head Start encourages the community and parents to volunteer. They can always use volunteers to read to the children.
