The Superior boys’ basketball team is surprisingly still searching for its first win of the 2017-18 season after dropping its first three games, two by lopsided margins.
The Panthers’ closest defeat was at Duncan on Nov. 28 in a game the Wildkats won, 43 – 32.
Junior Steven Ybarra scored a team-high 17 points to lead Superior, which is without a senior on a roster that includes six juniors, two sophomores and four freshmen.
Kale Major, a junior, had six assists while Jared Moreno had a team-high six rebounds. Cedric Mendoza, Ybarra, and freshman Dominic Hernandez each finished with five rebounds in the loss.
Upcoming games: Dec. 11 at Baboquivari (7 p.m.), and Dec. 12 vs. NFL Yet Academy (7 p.m.).
