Members of the JFK Guitar Group perform at Second Friday.
The Superior Schools Guitar Club performed at the monthly Second Friday event in downtown Superior last week. The guitar group played several songs and enjoyed having an audience of community members and other local musicians to cheer them on.
Guitar Club members are Aubry Preciado, Danika Bryant, Aubryana Nunez, McKenna Duarte, Monique Sanchez and Cianna Barrerras.
The downtown merchants have been hosting Second Fridays each month since December. The monthly event includes live music in the Besich Park which is hosted by the Superior Optimist Club and each shop hosts a different activity, sale or promotion. And best of all, the stores are open until 8 p.m. on those evenings. Several local vendors also sell their products during the event including some food options including Brick House Bakers pizza, burros from Casa Denogean and Fish Tacos from Mrs. B’s.
Mila Besich is a resident of Superior with two children. She volunteers for many local organizations. She is an experienced fundraiser and event planner for Copper Corridor Economic Development Coalition. She covers some of the area town councils and schools.
