San Manuel Fiesta set for Saturday

Genaro Moreno will perform from 3-4 p.m. at the Fiesta de la Primavera Saturday.

   Fiesta de la Primavera is Saturday at St. Bartholomew Catholic church at the corner of Park and Main in San Manuel and will include a horseshoe tournament and dance, along with game and food booths as well as live entertainment starting with Mass at noon.  

   Booths, horseshoes and entertainment will start at 1 p.m.

   The horseshoe tournament will be a blind draw for $10 per person with trophies for the top teams.

   According to Robert Estrada, horseshoe chairman, registration will be at 1 pm with a 2 pm start.  Women are invited and encouraged to compete.

   Live entertainment will start in the church hall at 1 pm with The Cardells.  Genaro Moreno, Mariachi Alma Mexicana and locals Forever We’re Forgotten Band are scheduled.  See program box.

   DJ Johnnie Laguna will spin tunes for the dance Saturday evening, until 10 pm.  There is no charge for the dance.

   There will be Navajo tacos, burros, flautas, hamburgers and hotdogs, as well as drink and game booths and face painting by Jazelle, throughout the day.
