Four members of the state-qualifying Ray volleyball team earned Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) 1A East All-Region recognition.
Hitter Shelby Yocum and setter Savannah Rodriguez were named 2nd Team All-Region while libero Daniella Hinojos and hitter Tara Lorona earned Honorable Mention honors.
The Lady Cats, who were the No. 14-seed at last weekend’s state tournament, were defeated in the first round by No. 3 and eventual 2017 State Champion St. Michael, 3 – 0.
The Cardinals won 12 of 13 sets on their way to winning the title.
