Psalm 91:6 speaks to us – “You will not fear the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.” This refers to a highly dangerous and contagious type of disease, one that is usually fatal.
There are quite a number of these around, even among the believers, yet God has told us that He will protect us. The passage indicates that it is not enough to simply know about God. Attending a church occasionally or reading a Bible once a month does little to keep us safe from danger.
Verses 1 & 9 – we are to make Almighty Jehovah God our ‘dwelling.’ Make God your place of residence; don’t move around among many ideas, concepts, thoughts or religions. Surround yourself with His love and focus your love on Him.
The result: you will be covered by His Presence, protected by His Power and delivered from trouble by His great Love. That is truly a blessed way to live.
