Partnership delivers clean drinking water to vulnerable communities in Arizona

Resolution Copper and Can’d Aid, in partnership with Ball Corporation and Oskar Blues, have teamed up to bring drinking water to communities in Arizona.

Resolution Copper is partnering with the Mesa Chamber of Commerce and the United Food Bank to provide more than 50,000 cans of safe, clean drinking water to vulnerable communities in Arizona.

With temperatures reaching triple-digits already and government officials saying this will be a difficult summer for heat relief, this water will provide a great reprieve from the unrelenting high temperatures to those less fortunate during an already difficult time.

Oskar Blues Brewery and the nonprofit organization Can’d Aid is supplying the water in aluminum cans. The water will arrive on May 4 to United Food Bank in Mesa, AZ. Can’d Aid, in partnership with Ball Corporation and Oskar Blues, has responded to 29 natural and human-made disasters in the U.S. and Puerto Rico by providing nearly 2 million cans of clean water.   “The Mesa Chamber has a long history of partnering with the City of Mesa and United Food Bank on an annual hydration donation campaign. This time of year, it’s necessary that we all do our part in ensuring our most vulnerable have water. With COVID-19, this is even more important. We love seeing members helping members. Special thanks to our friends at Resolution Copper for stepping up with a large water donation. These efforts truly make a difference between life and death,” said Sally Harrison, President and CEO Mesa Chamber of Commerce.

“Delivering safe, clean drinking water will help lend a hand to those that need it the most during these challenging times,” said Andrew Lye, Resolution Copper Project Director. “It’s amazing to see what we can do when we all work together, and we are thankful for our partners who have made this initiative possible.”

Together, Resolution Copper and the United Food Bank will distribute the drinking water to support local efforts to help the most vulnerable during Arizona’s summer. Recently, Resolution teamed up with the United Food Bank to deliver more than 75,000 meals to communities particularly hard-hit by COVD-19.
