Sue Parra and Alicia Bristow of the Oracle Women’s Network are happy to announce the official designation of the Tri-Community Visitors Center.

The Tri-Community Visitors Center located in Oracle is now designated as Arizona’s 62nd Local Visitor Information Center (LVIC). The official designation comes from the Arizona Office of Tourism.

The Visitors Center is managed by the Oracle Women’s Network (OWN) and is located on American Avenue across from the Oracle Fire Station.

“It all started with a vote in an OWN meeting in 2011 to create a visitors center in Oracle,” said Sue Parra, who was serving as president of that organization at the time. “Now four years later it is official!”

Alicia Bristow, current President of OWN, says the official designation will bring a number of benefits to the Tri-Community as well as the Visitors Center. The official designation will allow Oracle to receive signage from ADOT on Highway 77 directing tourists to the Visitors Center. It will allow the Visitors Center to provide more information about the activities, places of interest and local businesses of the Tri-Community.

“I think it is going to help Oracle in a great way,” said Sue.

As a partner with the Arizona Office of Tourism, it will provide outlets for information about the area through the AOT website and their tourist guidebook. They have a help center that provides tourist information for callers about what there is to do in the area. It will mean more business for the restaurants, hotels, bed & breakfasts, and activities like the new Zipline going in on the back road to Mt. Lemmon. It will provide opportunities for marketing and promoting local businesses to potential visitors from around the state, country and internationally.

This wouldn’t have happened without the members of OWN and “especially President Alicia Bristow,” said Sue. Sue and Alicia would like to thank the many others who made this possible, including the Oracle Fire Department, lots of volunteer labor, community members and many more.
