Local artist and muralist LouDon, aka Jack Small, has been working on transforming the murals at the Oracle Public Library since March. The wonderful murals, originally started in 1993 and completed in 1996, had become faded and chipped over the years. The murals have been repainted to have the images more colorful and clearer to see. The updated mural project will be completed in the near future. All are welcome to stop by see the transformation.

The Oracle Public Library, a unique all volunteer organization, began as a reading room in 1903. The library has grown into a full-service community resource made possible by the numerous volunteers. Membership is free to Pinal County residents. Volunteers are needed and appreciated for those interested in helping out in the community. Please contact the library for additional information if interested in donating your time and talents.

The library has a comprehensive Southwest collection and specializes in books by local authors. Archaeological examples from the Alice Carpenter collection are showcased along with changing displays from diverse collections in the library.

A ceramic Tree of Life by local children is part of the mural that surrounds the parking lot. There is also an original sundial created with specially made tiles as part of the original mural project.
