The fourth-ranked Ray softball team dominated both Mogollon and Duncan last week, outscoring the two teams, 35 – 1.

The Lady Cats scored nine runs in the first inning and scored in each of the next three innings of the 15 – 0 win against Duncan last Friday.

Stormee Galka hit a three-run triple and Nepeese Avechuco hit a two-run triple while Tara Lorona drove in two runs with a double to lead the Lady Cats’ offensive attack.

Galka, a Maryville University commit, and Daniela Hinojos combined for the one-hit shutout, each throwing two innings in the game. Galka allowed the only hit and struck out four and Hinojos, a freshman, surrendered only a walk and fanned two in the relief appearance.

Galka and Savannah Willis combined for five hits and 10 RBI in the Lady Cats’ 20 – 1 victory at Mogollon last Tuesday. Willis had three hits and six RBI while Galka had two hits, including a double to go along with four RBI. Janae Ruiz also had a big game at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI. Ema Alverado and Hinojos each had two hits in the game.

Galka and Hinojos combined to allow an unearned run on a hit. The duo walked three and struck out seven in the five-inning game.

Upcoming schedule:  Apr. 12 at Miami, Apr. 15 vs. San Carlos, and Apr. 19 vs. Ft. Thomas. All games are scheduled for 4 p.m.
