Links of Superior is the latest business to take up shop in Smokey’s Mercantile. The Copying and Printing shop, which opened on March 3, has already found its niche and has been busy taking on jobs from the Towns of Winkelman and Kearny, as well as doing work for the Superior Chamber of Commerce.

Run by Dave Lopez and his wife Diana Acuna Lopez, the idea for the shop came around because of Dave’s transplant surgery. When Dave was in the hospital for his transplant, Diana found herself dealing with a lot of paperwork. Paperwork that often needed to be copied and faxed. When Diana found that there was no place she could get copies or fax in town, she decided this would be the perfect venture for her husband when he got out of the hospital. And so started the couples copying, printing and faxing business.  As the business grows the couple has plans to add retail stock; school supplies the local teachers and students may need.  Besides copying and printing the shop also offers photo digital printing.

Dave and Diana have a keen interest in helping the community. They recently did a fundraiser to raise money so they could buy backpacks that they are filling with school supplies and are going to donate to the local schools.

The store at the moment is open on Mondays at 1:30-7 p.m. and Tuesday through Friday 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. But as they add personnel they hope to expand their hours. The business has a very small town feel. For instance, if the shop is closed and you need something printed or faxed, Dave says you can always call and he will come in and open the shop, and take care of your business.
