Local couple’s granddaughter helps team win championship

The Winnemucca Junior High School eighth-grade girls basketball team completed a perfect season this past Saturday when they won the Tri-County Championship in Battle Mountain.. Total wins for undefeated season last year and this year is 39-0. This year’s team included Victoria Tirado, Rebecca Kuskie, Sydney Connors, Julie Garcia, Lily Garcia, Madi McClellan, Brooke Hansen, Hanna Growcock, Hailey Fernandez, Tatyana Carlson, Rachel Garrison, Julianna Montero, Macy Munroe, and coaches: DaraLee Millikan and Lyndsey Anguiano.
