The top-ranked Ray softball team defeated both Ft. Thomas and Hayden last week to extend its winning streak to 11 games.
The Lady Cats last suffered a loss nearly a month ago, an 8 – 3 defeat versus Globe on Mar. 25.
Daniella Hinojos hit two homeruns and drove in five runs in the Lady Cats’ 16 – 0 win at Ft. Thomas on Apr. 11. The sophomore was one of five Ray players to have two hits in the game. Tara Lorona, who had three RBI in the win, Julie Meza, Gabby Montano, and Ema Alverado were the others.
Hinojos and Dani Montano combined on the two-hit shutout. The duo combined to whiff five Apaches’ hitters while only surrendering a single base-on-balls.
The Lady Cats are now 17 – 3 for the season.
