Granddaughter of local couple aids team in third place win at state

Lady Buckaroos’ Tatyana Carlson placed 10th on individuals with a score of 172.

Tatyana Carlson, a freshman at Lowry High School in Winnemucca, Nevada, had a really great season of golf, helping spur her team, the Lady Buckaroos (Bucks), to a third place win at state.

Faith Lutheran took top honors, with a combined score of 629. Even though Clark and Lowry were tied on Round 1, the first day, the Bucks ended up dropping seven swings on day two, with Clark rounding out at 372, putting Lowry in 3rd with 379. The Bucks had won every meet and tournament of the season, until placing 3rd at State.

Tatyana ended her season with a 10th place for individuals and is now seeded as the top golfer for her high school.

Tatyana is the granddaughter of Nacho “Mac” and Dora Villaverde and the daughter of Anna Villaverde Carlson, ending up placing 10th on individuals with a score of 172.
