CV Foundation Presents the Copper Reflections Art of the Week: Carlota Mine

KGHM’s Carlota Mine is pleased to be a part of the CV Foundation Annual Art & Wine Auction as a Silver Sponsor. The mine will be donating a stunning piece to contribute to the auction that holds great meaning to the operation.

This piece is a sheet of copper that was produced during start-up when a cathode did not plate as it was supposed to. This one-of-a-kind cathode was soon celebrated when an employee saw its potential and shared his vision with the general manager at the time. It is easy to see an image of a sun rising from behind an abstract mountain range (similar to the surrounding mountainous terrain of the mine). This piece has been hanging in a common area, used to host meetings and celebrations at the mine, since 2010.

The Carlota Mine hopes that this piece helps the CV Foundation meet their fundraising objectives and that it is appreciated by its future owner as much as it has been by the staff and visitors of the mine.

Be sure to come to the CV Foundation “Copper Reflections” Art and Wine Auction on Nov. 6 to have a chance at getting this wonderful work of art that has been so generously donated by Carlota Mine! The event will be held at the Gila County Fairgrounds and will begin at 6 p.m. In addition to the Live and Silent Auctions for art, there will also be History and Artifacts from our local mines and museums, wine tasting, and Hors d’oeuvres. Tickets are $20 if bought prior to the event and $25 at the door. For more information, to purchase tickets, or to donate please call: (928) 402-1141 or (928) 402-1230.
