Clara Salazar Caballero, a long-time resident of the Tucson area, died Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015, at the age of 96. She passed away at the home of her daughter Mary Helen Garcia and son-in-law Blas Garcia, surrounded by loved ones in Bellflower, California where she had resided for the past five years.
Clara was born on Sept. 21, 1919 in Klondyke, Arizona. Clara was a bookkeeper for Arizona Public Service for several years. In 2010, she moved to California to be with family. She lived the past five years enjoying birthdays, holidays and special occasions together with the Garcia, Herrera, Cox and Watson Families.
Clara is preceded in death by her first husband of 22 years, Ernest Delgado; second husband of 45 years, Rudy Caballero; her siblings, Guillermo Salazar, Adolpho Salazar, Catherine Osborne, Dolores Sheffield, Christina Pacheco and Epigmenio Gabriel (Tex) Salazar and daughters, Catherine and Christina Delgado. Clara loved family, her Catholic faith, good cooking, dancing, nice clothing and a good drink.
She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Flora (Rudy) Herrera and Mary Helen (Blas) Garcia; grandchildren, David (Michelene) Herrera, Michael (Kelly) Herrera, Judy (Jeff) Watson and Jennifer Cox and nine great-grandchildren, all of whom live in Southern California and brought great joy to her in her later years.

Tucson, AZ at 10 a.m. for a visitation with Rosary at 11 a.m., funeral mass at 11:30 a.m. and interment to follow at East Lawn Palms Cemetery, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Tucson, AZ.
