Bees strike Superior School District (spelling bees, that is)

Superior – On Friday, Jan. 23, the top 11 students from John F. Kennedy’s Spelling Bee and the top 10 spellers from Superior Junior High School battled it out to see who would win the title of 2015 Superior School District Spelling Bee Champion.

Lindsay Ketron, an 8th grader at Superior Junior High School, won 1st place. Claudia Delgado (7th grade) came in 2nd and Myika Cruz (5th grade) was the 3rd place winner. The District Alternates are Damian Peralta, Danika Bryant, and Azelea Marquez. The top 3 winners will be participating in the Pinal County Spelling Bee on Friday, Feb. 20.

Superior Unified School District extended its congratulations to all the students that participated for their hard work, saying, via a representative, “Thank you to our Spelling Bee Instructors, Emilia Hernandez and Karen Bowman, our Judges Yolanda Ewing, Arlynn Godinez, and Nellie Perez, and, to our Pronouncer Cynthia Benson.
