The Ray High School football team traveled to face off against Cicero Prep on Friday, Sept. 10.

Due to Boboquivari cancelling its season, the Bearcats were left without a game the week of Sept. 3. That week off appeared to give the Ray what they needed to prepare for Cicero Prep.

The Bearcats put up a tough battle, and ended up on top, with a final score of 40-34. The team received its first win for the season giving them a 1-2 record.

This week is Homecoming and the ‘Cats will host the Tempe Prep Knights.

The Ray Bearcats PTO will host a parade at 4 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 17, and this year’s royalty will be crowned at half time. This year’s Homecoming Queen and King are Mia Barragan and Johnavon Pace.

  Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
