The Oracle Community Learning Garden offered drive through service at its first plant sale. Plants available included different varieties of tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, peppers and herbs.

On Saturday, May 9, residents of Oracle, San Manuel, Mammoth and Dudleyville are invited to take part in the produce event sponsored by Oracle Community Learning Garden and SaddleBrooke Rotary Club. Organizers are asking for a contribution of $6 for a box of fresh produce. Please order only one box per household as supplies are limited.

The event will be held at the Oracle Justice Court, on Justice Court Drive. Volunteers will place your box in the car for you. Distribution will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

You are encouraged to pre-pay to assure your box is reserved. Starting Tuesday, May 5, you can go to the Oracle Community Learning Garden Facebook page and click the link to PayPal. Your order will be charged a $1 service fee for a total of $7. You can also pay $6 on Saturday. Please have a check or the exact amount ready.

The Oracle Community Garden has been busy helping the Tri-Community find an oasis in the food desert. Last Saturday, the group hosted a plant sale and distributed the plants to those who participated. Plants offered included: many varieties of squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers and herbs. The plants were ready to plant and included a nice bag of worm castings, guaranteed to make the plants grow healthy, even in our food desert.
