Student honors presented at Ray High School

Earlier this month, the Kearny Town Council made an official proclamation of the 2019 Ray Lady Bearcats Championship Softball Team. Mayor Debra Sommers and the Town Council honored the Ray High School Girls State Champion Softball Team, Managers, Coaches and Principal.  The Mayor read the proclamation in the honor of the State Champion Girls Softball team and presented each girl, manager, coach and principal with a framed copy of the signed proclamation.   The 2018-19 Ray High School Classroom Awards Assembly was held May 20 in the RHS auditorium. 

  The program opened with the Pledge of Allegiance led by Romeo Williams-Varley followed by Mr. Carlos Armendariz, Principal, who welcomed parents and guests.

  Mr. Armendariz also acted as MC and introduced the following teachers who presented the classroom awards:

  Mrs. Fuerstenberg – Outstanding Citizenship English 1, Marissa Baez, Brina Morales and Ashiya Varley;  Most Improved, English 1, Isaiah Azevedo, Elias Martinez and Ariana Munoz; Superior English and Writing Skills English 1,  Ziporah Brumley, Cody Laiklam, Tracon Naranjo, Mikenna Seller, Ashton Solis, Jack Warren and Kaia Warren. Outstanding Citizenship English 3, Shaylyn Arbizo, Daniela Camarillo, Isabella Kimmel and Grace Rabb;  Most Improved, English 3, Yavette Llanez, Jordynn Seller, Crysta Walters and Luke Warren; Superior English and Writing Skills English 3,  Aiden Acuna, Aaron Azevedo, Krista Garcia, Annalise Manuel, Savannah Ortiz and Shelby Yocum.   Mr. Pacheco – Academic Achievement Award Algebra 1, Jack Warren, Kaia Warren, Tracon Naranjo and Brina Morales;  Most Improved Student Award Algebra 1, Eli Martinez.

 Miss. Varley –  Heath Citizenship Award,  Jocelyn Gennicks, Tracon Naranjo and Jack Warren; Life Science Citizenship Award, Brina Morales, Tracon Naranjo, Jack Warren and Kaia Warren; Cellular Biology Citizenship Award,  Kiana Lopez, Robert Marler, Kacy Molar, Juan Rivera, Emma Stuart and Michael Warren; Anatomy and Physiology Citizenship Award, Madison Dollar, Annalise Manuel and Shelby Yocum.
