VFW Ortiz-Madrid Post #2787 (Mammoth) Color Guard

The 4th of July celebration sponsored by the Oracle Community Center was a big success. This first of what may become an annual event drew large crowds of children and their families.

Grand Marshal Karen Lombardi

The event began with a bicycle parade led by the VFW Ortiz-Madrid Post #2787 (Mammoth) Color Guard. They were followed by the Grand Marshal Karen Lombardi and many kids riding red, white and blue decorated bicycles. The parade ended at the community center where the kids received goody bags and enjoyed many games and were treated to a free hot dog lunch and a sno cone.

Here they come!

The games included sack races, water balloon toss, bean bag toss, a dunking booth and more. There were crafts, face painting, a bicycle raffle and a photo booth set up by Angelica Valdez. The Oracle Fire Department provided some artificial rain to cool things down.

Check out this cutie.

Winners of the Bicycle Decorating Parade Contest were: 1st Place – Natalie White, 2nd Place – Rachel White and 3rd Place – Jaden Palmer.

This was truly a community event and fun for all!

The dunking booth was very popular.
