I haven’t written an update in quite a while. Our Town staff has been busy working on our road projects and updating policies to make our community events safer and more efficient. We have also been hosting many meetings, the International Mining Seminar hosted a half day meeting with our local leaders, we have been meeting with Habitat for Humanity and the USDA about housing and infrastructure development. The Urban Land Institute has also awarded Superior a Technical Assistance Planning Grant that will help us with land use planning and policies for healthy community development. Many great opportunities are coming our way.
Our local community groups and students have also been very busy hosting some fun events for Halloween and there was a great tribute to our local Veterans for Veterans Day by the VFW and the Student Leadership Team, our high school DECA students raised $2,000 for the Superior Food Bank with the Fill -A-Bowl event and our local athletes who made us all proud with a trip to the State Football Championship. The Optimist Club is once again planning for the Miracle on Main St. event and the Besich Park is looking wonderful with the new repairs and holiday lights. Our Chamber of Commerce and the Rebuild Superior Inc. have been working with marketing plans and assisting the town with cleaning up blighted properties.
These are just a few highlights of the many things that are happening in our community, every day there are countless numbers of volunteers, community leaders, teachers, municipal workers, and business leaders devoted to making Superior, the best it possibly can be. I am forever thankful for the commitments made by so many people to make our community, truly a SUPERIOR community. Each one of our residents help to create this fabric that makes us all Superior!
From my family to yours, we are wishing you all a healthy, happy and abundant Thanksgiving!
