The Holiday Art Market is opening once again in Oracle for a limited time — Nov. 15 to Dec. 23. The gallery will showcase the work of 13 local artisans, each with a distinct style and medium. If you have been asking yourself what you were going to give as gifts this year that is personal and will be treasured a lifetime, this is your opportunity to discover some real finds!
Easy to locate, the Market is at The Art Station, 1395 W. American Ave., Oracle (next to the Fire Station). There are items for every budget and the range of work includes paintings, ceramics, jewelry, knitwear, and sculpture. There are items for the home, the garden, and wearable art. Open Wednesdays through Sundays, hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., except Saturdays when the Holiday Art Market will stay open until 7 p.m.
The artists represented at the Holiday Art Market understand that original art has unequivocally positive effects for those who own it. Simply put, it makes life more livable. Just think of an empty wall and then one with art that is not only visually appealing, but also radiates the creativity, insight, inspiration and technical mastery of the artisan who created it. All of the above artists will tell you that there is an “art” to buying art. It does not have to be unattainable because of price. Think local, buy local and you have a great chance of making an investment in something you love and can enjoy a lifetime — without breaking the bank. For those who are interested in meeting the artists, the public is invited to a reception on Friday, Dec. 8, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. with plenty of food and drink. Visitors can discuss the inspiration for a piece of art with the artists themselves, some of which also offer opportunities to order custom work.
