Volunteer pilots receive training from U.S. Forest Service

Pilot Shawn Mease flying an AS350B3 aircraft. He is associated with Mountain Area Helicopters which is coordinating with the Forest Service to help with the training program.

At the Superior Airport this week the Forestry is training students on how to be air tac so they can talk in air tankers and coordinator helicopters and air tankers in the air for the summer fires. The helicopters are taking off from the Superior airport and simulating fake fire bucket drops, while Globe hot shots are calling in fake spot fires.
