The Ray baseball team started its season with a 2 – 0 record after wins against San Manuel and Duncan last week.
Following an 8 – 6 win against 2A-conference San Manuel last Wednesday, the Bearcats handily defeated Duncan last Saturday, 19 – 1.
Jaden Pace and Anthony Lopez each had four hits in the win, including two doubles apiece. Jordan Pace, Morgan Bray and Brett Fackiner each had two hits against the Wildkats. Fackiner (5), Jordan Pace (4), Noah Warren (3) and Bray (3) combined to drive in 15 of the Cats’ 19 runs.
Warren, the Bearcats’ starter, was dominant in the four-inning stint. The senior did not allow a hit or a run during his 56-pitch outing in which he fanned 11 Wildkats. Jordan Pace allowed a run and struck out three in an inning of relief.
