Lady Cats win two of three last week

Ray High Bearcats

  The 11th-ranked Ray girls’ basketball team won two of its three games last week, defeating Duncan and Superior at home before losing at top-ranked Ft. Thomas last Friday.

  Freshman Shelby Yocum led the Lady Cats to a 53 – 32 win against Duncan last Tuesday, scoring a game-high 19 points to go along with eight rebounds, three assists and two steals.

Savannah Rodriguez added nine points and Tara Lorona and Ema Alvarado hauled in six rebounds apiece. Lorona also had five of the Lady Cats’ 16 steals in the game while Julie Meza, a sophomore, finished with four thefts in the win.

Upcoming schedule:  Jan. 24 at Phoenix Day School for the Deaf, Jan. 26 at San Manuel and Jan. 27 vs. Hayden. All games are scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
